My plan was going to be to run MSDE at each location, SQL Server at the corp. office, and replicate data fairly regularly from the remote locations up to the corp. location (every few minutes so the info was nearly real time). This way, the WAN connection could go down but the remote locations would keep on working. When the connection came back up, the servers would replicate as usual (with just a bit more info to pass up to the server). This might work for you.

Thanks Paul, that sounds pretty good.

The other thing is that we have people who use laptops off-line and then come into the office and transfer their data onto their local server database (via VFP application) from their local database.

Could MSDE be used on the laptops as well? Will it synchronise any table structure changes? or will we still have to have a program in place to do that?

Thanks
KEv
