I use a relative path off my main app directory. All the bmps are placed into a folder appropiately named bmps. I create a new property to hold the relative path. The new property is called pathtobmps. I place the following in the pathtobmps property

./bmps/

I load the picture into the form during program execution with a statement something like the following placed in the init event of the form:

Thisform.buttons1.cmdindex.picture=thisform.PathToBmps+"filter.bmp"
