This is a bit off topic but it started me thinking. What is the appeal of products like SBT, Accountmate and Visual Advance? I'm an Accountmate dealer so I know how that product works - you sell it to a customer and get a dealer %. If the client needs mods you sell them the source code (and pay a modifier fee) and can modify that one version. Is there a market for selling the source code outright (a copy of it) and allowing the end buyer to do whatever they want with it - embed it, commercialize it, etc. Obviously there would need to be decent price put on this and some provisions to stop someone from giving it away to everyone they knew - but I was just wondering whether that is something the community would want.
