Thanks for the reply Dana,

The problem is that I am only copying one zip file with the VFP "copy file" command. It can be 10k or 800k in size, but I don't have any way to update a progress bar. When they are attached to the remote system, it just does a drive mapping so the file can be copied from one drive to another with a regular copy command.

>Why not use the progress bar ActiveX control that comes with VFP? Are you using VFP 5.0? If you're using 3.0, sorry. But if you're using 5.0, it comes with a bunch of nice ActiveX controls that you really should check out. I've used the progress bar and it is really easy to use. You can size it, too. Or use two on a form, one for current process and one for total job. Just a few ideas for you.

I would like to put in some kind of visual indicator for the user so they know what is going on and be able to guess how long it will take. A progress themometer would be nice, but I would at least settle for the style of message box that shows the papers flying across into the folder. At least then, they would know something was going on.
