I called Microsoft and this was a new problem for them. After back and forth a few times and trying a few things they finally nailed it down to deleting the registration key 42F01ADA-4885-4C3E-9357-9E86138DDECF.

I was surprised at how helpful they were, even talking with one of the support guys after hours at home.

>Guess I can't help you much George. I've installed VS.NET Professional (after uninstalling the Beta version) without a problem and I installed the whole thing, C# as well as VB and the .NET Framework. I don't know what installing VB.NET Standard only would do, as far as what it ends up installing.
