Hi Mel.

>Hmmm.... I don't think you will have time for a girlfriend working with either one of these frameworks at first <g> - (j/k = just kidding).

You're right, girlfriends and frameworks are not compatible programs.

>I tried MM just like you are - after working with CodeMine 7 first. I learned much from working through the MM manuals and tutorials (in the area of OOPs). Although I suspect they are both equally fine products, to me the learning curve was much deeper in MM than in CodeMine 7. And, this probably had more to do with me than MM.

Got the same feeling from the manuals. And something that helps me to go OOP is very welcome. I'm in this business for about 18 years, worked with Basic, Fortran, Cobol, CICS, Adabas, Natural, Pascal, dbase, Clipper, Fox2.x, many different tools for Mainframes and others and got to a point where I found I should change a bit and go growing chickens ... Anyway, all the sudden I got enthusiastic again with my work, and saw that I would be punished for these 4 or 5 years I negleted studying. So, now I have many Fox2.6 applications ready to be migrated. They work fine as they are, but needless to say there are thousands of implements they need. And as I have customers that somehow like working with me, lets do it.

>The thing about CodeMine 7 to me (and I am not saying this as a reflection on MM) is that it all just fits together - and this probably has much to do with Dave at SoftClassics - as he appears to always be working on it and improving it. There have been many times I have sent him an email at 8pm and he answered it that night.

This happened to me to. Dave is just great. You've noticed my questions are on basic levels, and he always answered them promptly. And for the records, it is working this way with Kevin as well, for the few ones I've sent to him.

Best.
Ivan
