>>IMO JVP clearly doesn't have to let personal emotions get the better of him when expressing his opinions on Foxpro's situation now and in the future, <<
Obviously you didn't see the thread in "chatter" where JVP got annoyed and labelled me a homosexual and offered me tissues and condoms as a wedding present for my marriage to another chap he doesn't like (!)
I don't necessarily disagree with everything JVP says, but I completely reject the sophistry and circumlocution. IMHO that needs to be exposed so people understand when they are being dished up slogans rather than expertise. IMHO it is also a self-fulfilling prophesy- what would a developer considering moving to VFP think if JVP's copious prophesies of doom are not challenged. And it is no longer safe to refer potential customers/employees to UT as a sign of breadth of support for VFP when there is a prophet of doom shrieking at every opportunity that "VFP is a scuttled ship that cannot be rescued" and all the rest of it. IMO it has gone beyond an irritation to be ignored, to actual damage for people who rely on VFP.

"... They ne'er cared for us
yet: suffer us to famish, and their store-houses
crammed with grain; make edicts for usury, to
support usurers; repeal daily any wholesome act
established against the rich, and provide more
piercing statutes daily, to chain up and restrain
the poor. If the wars eat us not up, they will; and
there's all the love they bear us."
