>To react positively, one must learn a new language? Is that the only alternative?

I have thought for a long time that I should learn additional language(s), but I never took the time to actually do it. Really, if you know one language well (and I think I know VFP well), you can do virtually anything, quickly. To do the same with a new language (new for you), you would have to invest months (at least) to learn it well, and to solve the problems that commonly appear.

In the past, I wanted to learn VB, Delphi, Assember, and some other languages, but I never took the time to learn any one of them really well. It is to high an investment.

OTOH, this sort of thinking may leave us "stranded" a few years from now. Or, we may simply be forced to learn another language, because our company requires it.

Hilmar.
