>>Nope. We choose C#.Net. While Delphi is better, C# is an overwhelming choice by decision makers i.e. consultants, it managers, software architects.
>>
>>Reasons:
>>1. C# is ECMA standard, and so we will be seeing 3rd party compilers of various platforms .
>>2. C# is java like language which gives us better standing if we need to use another one.
>>3. C# is being touted as the language of the future and MS strategically positioned it that way.
>>4. C# has higher profile than any .NET language available today.
>>5. Most of my colleagues don't know either VB or C, and so starting from scratch might as well go with C#.

>Thank you for your input. Deos this mean learning C# will be easier than learning VB or just that one might as well go with C# and forget VB, VFP etc.? Comments? And if Delphi is a good tool and Borland a company that stands behind its products and markets all its products effectively (assumption), then what would it take to sway decision makers to move towards Borlands products?

To some, VB.Net is easier to learn coming VFP but to me, it's not an issue. In fact C# has more concise syntax than VB.

The issue about Borland is its stability as a company.
