I, too, studied Latin & Greek at school - though by choice rather than from Catholic education. My wife has a degree in Latin. My son is required to study Latin for at least three years at school, at the point where my sone has the option of not carrying on with Latin, my daughter will be starting. So, at least for my family, Latin seems to be far from a dead language. Maybe one of the reasons why the abuse of the language is a bit of a bug-bear for me.
