California – A television news report last night.

Today,a politician attempted to introduce a bill to require the “Pledge of Allegiance” be mandatory for every public school student in the State of California. It was estimated it would cost the state $400,000 to notify each teacher in writing of this new requirement should it go into effect, as there would be an option for the student to not say the pledge. (Does that make sense? Oh well, it was television news cast).

The bill was shelved for the moment and according to the news report, “it is already mandatory for each public school student in the State of California to commit one patriotic act each school day, excluding saying the Pledge of Allegiance”. Options were not given. Stay tuned for the 11 PM news when this will be discussed in more detail and with more commercials. Further confusion and nonsense await the poor television viewers. Just think – they allow us to “vote”.

Voting is that condition whereby you are allowed to express your opinion be it ignorance, bias, hatred, passion, emotion or confusion. It is what I term, “The passive right of democracy to express revolution through the right to vote”. Oh yes, we have the right to vote but we do not have the right to have our votes counted. I was not taught these things when I received my degree in Political Science. You learn something new every day like how to smile or laugh at it all. :)
