Thanks again Jim. I wonder if there is anyway to get the KB article updated with the complete solution. The KB solution works only if the screen's background color is not white. It does not solve the problem if the screen's foreground is any color other than black also. In addition, the title of the KB article is not very well worded for searchers with the same problem--I would never have searched for gray background in Windows 95 or Windows NT. It was occurring in Windows 98 machines too by the way! We tested it.
