Actually, you don't OWN those software packages. What you have purchased is the License to use them. They remain the property of Microsoft. So, your TCO (Total Cost of Ownership) is actually TCR (Total Cost of Renting).
That's how they can change the terms of the EULA 'on-the-fly', whcih you click through without reading during the next component security fix or bug patch. If your license is Lincense 6 then you have a limited time period for their usage, after which you must renew the license or send the software back and erase all copies.
