I think, it's related to this particular document. It has ~200 pages with Russian, Hebrew, English, different fonts and lots of footnotes. It crushes periodically when I try to change a word or font in FootNotes. So, I'm saving my changes after each change...

I say this because Word does not check your spelling as you type a new word (or delete a word and retype it). It waits for a space, a carriage return or punctuation. Well, at least the default setting is to "check spelling as you type."
