>My intention was most certainly not to scold my fellow Visual FoxPro developers. I don't see myself as any more "enlightened" as anyone else, so my comments are to be taken as seriously as you would from someone else you know as well as me.
>I'm sorry that you see my article in a negative light because it is Microsoft-centric. There's no doubt at all that it is, in fact, Microsoft-centric. I know and work with Microsoft tools--almost exclusively. I'm actually not ashamed of that and I'm only going to talk about what I know. I can't comment on Delphi, Kylix, or Powerbuilder because I've never used them.

I only see the Job Security section in a negative light. The rest was interesting. And I certainly understand your point about not being able to comment about other tools.
Still, the ending had no relation to the body of the article. There's nothing in the body of the article to support the points made at the end (valid or not). Specifically, FoxPro developers are singled out as needing to expand their horizons -- not .NET developers, not VB developers, not C++ developers, just FoxPro developers. It's a VFP mag, of course, but to me, that comes off as scolding. To be fair, this is just as much an editor problem as well.

Not true. I never liked you. < gd&r >
