The "=" sign is required in FoxPro and VFP 3. It can
usually be omitted in VFP 5 or later, except for a few specific functions, notably seek(), where there can be confusion with the equally-named SEEK comand.
In some programs, the "=" sign is always used, when compatibility with VFP 3 is desired.
