Depending on the expected length of the text it could wrap to two or more lines; the users would understand immediately after clicking on a couple of things in this grid. The up side, IMO, is that it doesn't cover anything and is not in such a small font and limited space as the tooltips and status messages are. Besides, if you got more text, you can actually use a disabled editbox instead of label, so it would be scrollable.

The form currently doesn't have much of free space, but I like this idea, besides, it's quite easy to implement.
