Excuse the intrusion and comment. As far as “two people not recognize evil the same way” – I think it depends upon which end of the rifle barrel you are facing.
If you win you are "good" and if you loose you are "evil". Opposing sides see the other side as evil. The comment, “God is on our side”! was used by opposing armies for several hundred years. The same God was being referenced but “they” the opposition is evil and “we” are not.
If Hitler won our concept of good and evil would be different - in fact many of us would not be here to worry about such matters. I have talked to many German’s who lived through the Hitler years. They all say the same thing – "Hitler was a good man – he gave us work".
The concept of “good and evil” are relative to the audience and power structure.
