Another "theory". First we were talking Beta here. That severely limits the field. Now in that limited field who's to say that everyone is testing all aspects of the product? You and I both know that none are doing full testing (I sure hope, though, that MS discusses with the testers what each intends to test so that full coverage is attained to some degree), cutting the odds even further of repetition.
Now let's talk real life non-beta. Another thread recently defined that less than 10% of VFP developers were "in the community". It is VERY reasonable to assume that 99.9% of those "outsiders" never submit a bug report or call tech support. They struggle and find workarounds. So there can be no certainty at all that any bug "only affects n% of the users".
