John;

An observation about people and responsibility in the United States.

For about the last 35 years sociologists, psychiatrists and psychologists (the three “unproven sciences”) have rationalized people are not responsible for their actions or behavior because of an event in his/her life. It is interesting to note that this coincides with the introduction of such “recreational drugs” as LSD, PCP, and cocaine.

These same professionals are recognized as “expert witnesses" in a court of law and will defend the actions of anyone who commits an anti social act. Taking responsibility for ones self is not something commonly done by those who are anti social. Rationalization is the name of the game.

Here are some rules of life I have learned on my journey through time.
1. Never get sick.
2. Do not become a victim.

A friend of mine since childhood has an interesting rule:

1. Do whatever you like. If you do something illegal and you are not caught it is alright.

Sometimes we have to work within a set of rules. Some people are able to do this and others are not. We are all different. Some of us have learned how to respect ourselves as well as others.

Is it really Friday?

Tom

>>>Why should I not like having John on the UT? That's not a motive however. There are plenty of stupid comments (IMO) made by people on the UT. They have the same rights to say them as John does.<<

For the record I have not said I don't want him here, but as one who owns his own business and understands how apparently minor actions can suddenly create liability, I fully support MF's rights to act. He published rules, people knew the rules, people chose not to follow the rules. If MF gets blamed for that, next we'll be told that murderers did it because their daddy once called them a bad name. Personal Responsibility is not something we should need to argue about.
