It appears you have a Lucent Definity switch or derivitive - try this for the hardware and switch interface setup. Please try the download I suggested earlier. Setting the commport property to the port used by your PC should give you data in the editbox immediately. While this sample form seems intended for modem use, I see nothing it it that would prevent it's use as is, providing your MPDM is outputting a line feed as a terminator.

>I used an external modem to the RS-232 port (9 pin serial) and was able to talk to a regular modem. Now, I'm trying to attach to some MPDM??? box which apparently is the converter from the proprietary PBX box to simple ASCII. The cable goes directy from the MPDM box to my serial port.
