In a VPN session, the VPN provider will give the VPN connection a unique IP address in the scope of the VPN's DHCP provider, or within the range of a closed list of IP addresses. The VPN client doesn't have the ability to override this unless they specify a fixed IP address for the VPN connection in the first place.
