>>Can access be given to a user to update the IP address in a VPN connection object?
>
>In a VPN session, the VPN provider will give the VPN connection a unique IP address in the scope of the VPN's DHCP provider, or within the range of a closed list of IP addresses. The VPN client doesn't have the ability to override this unless they specify a fixed IP address for the VPN connection in the first place.

I didn't explain the problem very well, let me try again.

We are in the procss of replacing laptops for about 450 remote users spread out over the U.S. They will use a dial-up internet account to VPN into our corporate network. We built an image and our hardware vendor is putting it on the laptops we giving our remote users. Unfortunately during the actual roll-out of the laptops, the IP address of our VPN server will change.

We will have people acutally doing data transfers from the old laptop to the new ones, so they will be able to make the change on the new machines when the VPN server address changes. The problem is that the people who get their machines before this happens won't be able to change the server address of the dial up VPN because they won't have admin access to their boxes. I'm wondering if there is a way to allow a user to change that server address without giving them full admin to the box.

If any of this is unclear just let me know I'll try again to make it a little clearer. Hope I didn't ramble too much :)
