VFE has the guid() function, which gives you a c(16) hex string, which is supposed to be unique. At least I've never had problems with it. So merging data is no problem.

I've used the SiteID+LocalPK scheme back in FPD days without a glitch. SiteID was just two chars, and LocalPK=substr(sys(2015),3).
