Here is a solution that I have used.
We have 3 offices using Sync. Then they book a sale they get the
next available invoice number from a numeric field in a file and
increment the counter by one. Each LAN location is assigned a location
id 01,02,03 etc. We take the resulting invoice number from the counter
and append the location number to the end of the invoice number.
This prevents duplicate primary keys. Its not fancy but it works.
Now working on a way to use .net and instant messaging technology to
go to the main host location 01 to get the next invoice number
and return the answer within 10 seconds. Look for this in the next
major release.
Try the demo on
www.syncdata.net and give me any thoughts.
