Hilmar,
Thanks for the response. I have these files stored in a directory for
archive/backup purpose. The chance to retrieve them is very dim.
20000 files is not such a big number in a high voulme of transaction
environment. I have 2 or 3 times more files stored in a directory on a
NT4 machine, that did not give me problem though.
