It is handled under the Security tab when you right-click on a COM server and select Properties from the shortcut menu. Check out Access and Launch permissions.

The com object fails with a End Point mapping error which I see means the Automation Manager is not running. I seem to remember an Automation manager selection when I was running vfp6, but not now.
