Hmm... Thanks for the suggestion. Wise does do what you suggest but this puts the responsibility for the Windows operating system on us.

I think we might be having a user error problem. The build computer is a WIN2000 box. We are checking its service pack level and the version of MSFT's XML Parser and Data Access Components.

The versions of MSXML3R.DLL, listed below, are not part of any of the published builds MSFT lists on their version web page for XML parser.

Jim

>>We have been testing the installation of VFP 7.0 using Wise Installer. As part of the installation MSXML3R.DLL is written to the XP system directory. This Wise version of this file is 8.20.9370.0 and the XP version is 8.20.9307.1. The version 8.20.9307.1 is 10 bytes larger than the other file.

>>After the installation completes, XP shows the event viewer window that says that either the CD is not working or a system file has been corrupted. It prompts whether you want to fix the problem by putting in the XP CD. If you replace the file, the proper version is reinstalled.

>>Is anyone familar with this problem. Is the 10 byte difference due to MSFT signing the DLL?
