Jim,
Your points on MSDE are very well taken. Our main concerns with ditching VFP's data engine entirely would be decreased performance and how to position the upgrade cost w/the clients, especially if some already have SQL Server in house (i.e. we want them to pay for a new SQL version :) ).
Would it be possible to set aside some brain-trust time with you sometime during Devcon to elaborate further?
