The oil reserve is owned by the federal government and you will not tap into it! It exists so our military will have fuel when the rest of the world does not. We should be happy in the thought that our bombers and tanks will be the last ones to be operative.

Which is just to show how shortsighted they are. The rest of the world will be energy efficient and will have developed alternate sources of energy, while the US Army will still drive around in SUVs.

The example is maybe drastic to a caricatural point, but so is the state of mind.
