Nelson,
>Today, what counts is not who you are, it's what your wearing...
The "Who you are" part of your analogy speaks of its long term marketability, "What you are wearing" part is just today. The beauty of the dress you wear today fades tomorrow. I remember one hospital here (locally) used the VB/SQL Server system, today it's in the trashcan because the content and deliverables stinks.
The marketability of applications that I know of is the content, reliability of the data. To develop Winforms based apps which just duplicating VFP win apps is a not smart move IMHO. It hurts rather than helps us moving forward.
But I must admit that a good UI designs + the language you used is a big plus factor. First impressions last as the say...
We'll go into C#.Net but only for web-based apps. It's just a question of migrating the whole existing apps or just adding WEB flavor into it? For now, I can't say blanket yes statement given the fact that there are still a lot of issues as far as Web-based app is concerned.
