My twocents

I had a tracking system that needed to go on the road
When the salesman started out, he would 'snap-shot' the DBC...

After returning, the 'Update' would take place.

I had to add what I called a Transaction Table, seperate from the database, that recorded each ADD,CHANGE,DELETE of the offsite of all DBC fields, the salesman, datetime, and comment 36 chars.

The transaction table was available on the master from the time of the last Sync.
Synchronization, Involved Reading both Transaction Tables in datetime order and performing the update to the master.

I had to later add a routine to ask, to ignore, or to mandate the transactions from one or the other master or offsite, but that required interaction during updates, slowing down progress.

But it works, I know others will give you better ideas.
