Charles, I am all right down to point 5.
I have a SqlServer and SqlMangr running but dont see any Sql server in the list.

I think Sql got installed when I installed Studio.net
I then installed MSDE from the VFP 7 cd and dont know at this stage what ahs been set up.

Is MSDE the same as SQL server and can i have the two installed at the same time .. amybe this is causing some conflict

Regards

Gerard

>You can also go to the ODBC Data Sources and set up a User DSN using the following steps:
>
>1. Launch the ODBC Data Sources (Start / Settings / Administrative Tools / Data Sources on Win2000 Professional.
>2. Select the User DSN tab.
>3. Press the Add button.
>4. Select the driver for which you want to set up a data source by scrolling all the way down the list to SQL Server. Select it and then press Finish.
>5. Enter a name and description for the connection and then click on the server combo box. If you do not see a SQL Server in the list you'll know the installation didn't take place and you should try again.
