We work in a multi-developer office and use SourceSafe to manage version control.
Often, when attempting to rebuild an executable, VFP warns that it was unable to build the exe because it 'Cannot update the cursor'. VFP help is no help at all. It says, "You have attempted to write to a file that was created or accessed for read-only purposes."
WHICH FILE???
Because the compiler never finishes, it doesn't create an error file indicating where the problem was.
Thus I don't know which file(s) are at fault because VFP doesn't indicate. My solution to date: recompile multiple times, trying to remember the last filename that appeared before the error appears. This is extremely frustrating.
Does anyone have any suggestions on how to figure out which file(s) are causing the problem?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
