I found out what causes the fatal Error. In the form there are eight tables. the tables are for exclusive use. In the form there is grid in which the recordsource property is set to one of the table and recordtype as 1 Alias. If you remove the recordsource property then it works. Why ? Does that mean that we cannot set the recordsource property and this problem is not encountered in vfp 6
