I am VERY VERY familiar with ReFox. (http://www.xitech-europe.co.uk/ReFox.html)
1. Yes, it can decompile a VFP app in seconds.
2. Yes, they have a way that you can 'brand' your .exe so that other's cant decompile your .exe without a password. (or so they say)...of course you have to pay the $300 bucks for the refox software. (can you say "extortion" ??)
3. They are liars...even if you 'brand' the .exe with a password it is STILL possible to decompile the .exe if you have a hex editor and about 30 seconds of time.

At one point, much to several people's disgust, I posted how to hack the ReFox application so that you don't need the password to decompile, and it's also on a dozen or so hacker sites now too. The whole reason I did it is because I wanted my 300 bucks back since their app doesnt do what it says and hacking around the branding password is sooo simple. STILL no response from them either! ha!

The same creeps that make ReFox also make something called Konxise (http://www.xitech-europe.co.uk/Konxise/index.html), which acutally compresses the .exe and in theory that is supposed to be another way to prtoect the .exe. A few weeks ago I came up with a work-around for that too (which I have not posted anywhere...YET), so again someone can get your source code without much effort.

>Hi:
>Does anybody heard about a VFP decompiler called ReFox ?
>They say they can turn your .EXE into its original source code in a fraction of a second.
>That's terrifiying to me !
>Does anybody knows a way to encript your .exes or do something to avoid this situation ? I'm just trying not to pay the 300 USD that cost me the ReFox to protect my product from them (they offer protection agains themselves) <---- Yep!
>Thanks
