I am basically avoiding the issue at this point 8-)
I modified the code so that the table in question was no longer updated from the client workstation. I suspect that the IBM Client Access software has something to do with the server slowdown. I'll be able to do more testing in a few weeks when a similar installation enters the testing phase.
