Thank you for all of your help. The final solution was that I have BLACKICE, a fire wall, installed on the server. It was never a problem with 98 and win 2000 boxes but the XP box did not like it. I disconnected BLACKICE and everything worked. I am left with 1 last problem. When I attempt to run a WSH script, XP puts up a dialog stating that it has detected a malicious script. How do I encourage XP to let it be?

Thanx,
Neil

>>Thank you again. I did this and still no good. The XP laptop can't even find the server when searching for computers on the network. It only sees itself..
