>Thank you for all of your help. The final solution was that I have BLACKICE, a fire wall, installed on the server. It was never a problem with 98 and win 2000 boxes but the XP box did not like it. I disconnected BLACKICE and everything worked. I am left with 1 last problem. When I attempt to run a WSH script, XP puts up a dialog stating that it has detected a malicious script. How do I encourage XP to let it be?

I can't think of anything native that would do this; it could be the security settings for IE6 (Tools -Internet Options, the Security tab, probably the settings for Trusted or IntraNet sites.) I'd be far more likely to suspect overly aggressive settings of an AV product or the XP Firewall; I've never had the problem with my laptop or any of the business LANs I work with (I'm pretty insisitent (Translation: I won't support workgroups or peer-to-peer LANs at my client installations; if they want to support such environments at their clients sites, they can take the risk.) about using domain structures in all cases.)
