Hi all, I need to aquire a new development tool for a big local company, and
as my knowledge for enterprise development I will like to to use VPME/VFP but
have the following concerns:

1. will it work with Progress RDMS (the company has all its prior data in
progress in a unix server) Has some one have experience with this database?,
it does not provide a odbc, there are some other odbc providers but dont
know exactly its performance.

2. guess also need xcase, xcase2vpm what other do i need ?

3. we will like to start moving to another db, what will you suggest
(SQLserver, .....) What is the best approach to connect to sqlserver is
there a direct connection, since saw a program made in vfp that uses mssql
but says has vbasic in the middle for connection.

4. I made some test with sqlserver and vpm6e but encounter that when
validating a referential field it force me to see the grid (as if I had
typed the f2) even the key was typed correctly this happened in a normal
form (but not in all fields ) and allways in the grid in a 1-2-many form

Thanks for your advise
