Regarding the issue about Page Headers & Footers not printing for the Summary bands ...
1. If the Summary is marked as New Page, no Page Header and Footer prints. This is "By Design".
2. If the Summary band isn't marked as New Page, but it happens to start on a new page because the details end too close to the end of the page, no Page Header and Footer prints. I declared this as a bug in my Report Writer book. Microsoft, however, disagrees with me so I don't anticipate this behavior will ever change.
However, in VFP 8, they added two new options for Summary Bands -- Page Header and Page Footer. If you check those options, you will get the Page Header and/or Page Footer along with the Summary band, regardless of whether you have told it to print the Summary on a new page. Therefore, you can work around the bug by ALWAYS checking the two new checkboxes.
I have never encountered the other situation you described where the Group Header doesn't print on occassions. I'd be curious to see a sample report where this happens. If you have something you can zip up and email to me privately, I'd love to see it.
