Alan,

I tried with that thread and saw the message at the bottom, even viewing in simple format.
BUT... there were more than 50 messages showing, though I wouldn't bet that there are 375 or so.

I get no limit message on the 180-count thread.

My **guess** is that both have a limit, but each has a different limit, and the incorrect number is being shown in the simple format.

I'll post a question to Michel.

>Jim, I just tried it on a thread of about 380 messages. Doing a browser 'find' after choosing simple format sure looked like it was working, but when I got to the bottom, there was the 50 message limit notice. The problem, I think, is that the 2 lists are in a different order, and the last item on one list is not the same item as the last one on the other.

Go down to about record 43 (as of today, anyway - VB/SQL thread) and choose one of the items. then try out your scenario. See if it works for you there. If it does, then I'm either completely misunderstanding what you are telling me, or I'm just plain doing it wrong.

>>However, when I scrolled back up and clicked on the "See the entire thread in a simple format" (after the thread map but before the first message detail), then did a (browser) "Find" for that message number it found it and the scroll bar was only about 1/5th theway down. I then scroll-buttoned to the bottom and read Cetin's last message (approx. #184 in the thread).

>>>Well, it was a good thought. I checked and the 50 message limit is in effect either way.
