No, I think I jumped to conclusions here. Perhaps you can, indeed, have things execute on the server, if you set up VFP as a server and access data through ODBC. I was thinking about the system I currently use, but I am not using SPT, nor am I setting up VFP as a server in a client-server scenario.

Note also that you have some free options for C/S (apart from setting up VFP as the server), which you might at least try for testing purposes: MSDE, MySQL, and PostGreSQL are often mentioned. It seems there is a free version of InterBase, too (from Borland).
