How about a highlighting box (ie rectangle shape) that has it's Print When set to make is visible for the selected row? ie recno() = gnSelectedRecno or PKField = gnSelectedPK

If you want actual bolding of the font I think you'll have to have two reports fields one over the top of each other. One bold and one plain, they need opposite Print When conditions setup.
