Thanks for the response ... I'm using XP with SP1. I am able to reproduce it on another XP machine in our office, but not on Win2K machines in our office.

I'm using a P3 800.

Three printers are defined to Windows:
HP Color LaserJet 8550 PCL 5C
      HP LaserJet 8100 Series PCL
      HP LaserJet 8150 PCL 6

I deleted the printers one at a time, but the error happened after each removal. After the last one was gone, I get a non-fatal "Printer is not ready" error in response to GETPRINTER().

I did a few cycles of adding back one printer driver at a time and retrying it. The first time (after adding back the Color LaserJet driver), it worked -- issuing GETPRINTER() displayed the dialog -- but I can't reproduce that now. It's failing every time I add any of the printers, regardless of whether there is one driver defined or many.

Not sure where to go from here -- let me know if you get any more ideas about how to diagnose this further. Thanks!

>>Can't really give you any more information than is in the title. All I have to do is launch VFP7, type GETPRINTER() in the command window and hit Enter, and voila! A fatal error C0000005, with no more useful information than that. I rebooted the machine and tried again, but still get the error.

>>Other applications don't have any trouble giving me a printer list, and other machines on this network seem to be working just fine. Any ideas on how to proceed? Any help you can offer would be greatly appreciated!

>I can't duplicate the problem on a Win98, Win2K or WinXP workstation with SP1 installed; if you have not yet applied the SP1 patch, I'd try that. What OS are you running, what is the base hardware, and which printers have been installed according to the Windows Printer applet?
