Sorry it took so long to get back. I posted the same message to a linux news group and I'm getting flamed and support. "Real men use only the command line" is the general theme of the flamers.
It is true that Apple has a controlled environment. Therefore, making it easier to program. But this is not a hardware issue. Everything I did was based on software protocols, TCP/IP, SMB, etc. I just can't see why Linux isn't moving in the same direction. Oh sure the install now works very well and is very simple. But asking the average user what size the swap should be - give me a break. If we as programers want to help the future of computing - we have to make the Linux desktop easier (and better than Apple).
