>Recently, a study was done about the effects of banning smoking from public places. It was revealed that business had gone up! Perhaps too many non-smokers were offended and did not frequent public places. Whatever the reason for the increase in business we will never know.
I'm not surprised. I know there are places we don't go because of the smoke. We have a theater series and like to go out for a meal before or after the show. There's a restaurant with great food about 2 blocks from the theater, and we've had a couple of very good meals there, but we don't go there any more because the smoke is overwhelming. If we heard they won't non-smoking (the place is too small for really separate sections), we'd eat there regularly.
That's the first example that came to mind, but not the only one.
