>>Take standard American breakfast, cereals and juice. That's 500
kilocalories (aka calories in USA), whereas for a sitting job, or moderately physically involved, the norm is 1800 to 2000. Add the sugar from the coffee, coke, and whatever... which people usually don't count.
>Some people I have worked with enjoy a cigarette and cup of coffee for breakfast, with no sugar.
Milk, no sugar. Cigarette afterwards. Preferrably bicycling to work.
>Why are so many Americans overweight? I think they like donuts too much! There is nothing like grease, enriched processed flour, with sugar heated in a pool of boiling fat to create a tasteful delight such as a donut. Just glaze it with additional sugar to enhance its palatability and appearance. Such a treat!
Been that, done there... I mean, I tried, and couldn't eat more than one, and that was out of politeness only - wanted to throw it into the nearest waste basket after two swallows. It's so f**n sweet... had to drink a large glass of water to dissolve the sugar from my mouth. How can anybody stand so much sugar in anything?
I like sweet stuff here and there, but (same goes for salt, IMO), too much sugar just kills any other taste there may be. And is a surely not helping health.
