Jim - as I understand it, the issue with large fonts is that some applications/documents/etc. use fonts that aren't scalable, that is, that are only available in certain sizes. When such fonts are used, Windows can't properly scale them to large fonts. If TrueType or OpenType fonts are used, there's no problem with large fonts.

For example, the Solutions Samples in VFP used to use MS Sans Serif extensively. For VFP 7 (after I'd been screaming about it for years), they changed all those forms to use other fonts that scale properly.

IOW, the problem isn't in Windows, it's with the people creating the applications and documents, who are making a poor choice of font.
