I've had nothing but trouble with NAV; I recommend using Trend Micro's PC-Cillin. The best thing I can say about it is that the current sersion (PC-Cillin 2003) will permit you to update virus patterns and engines as often as every 10 minutes given a continuous Internet connection (cable modem/DSL/T1 etc), it's far less intrusive and resource consuming than NAV, it can be cleanly uninstalled and since switching to it (or its big brother, OfficeScan in conjunction with ServerProtect, their server-based AV and update administrator) I have yet to lose a station to a virus without a lot of hard wark on the part of the end-user to override the protection and load up a Trojan Horse program, and that was stopped dead in its tracks by our firewall.
